MCARE 2026

Welcome Remarks

    Welcome Remarks

    Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Materials Challenges in Alternative and Renewable Energy 2026 (MCARE 2026), which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from December 14 to 18, 2026.

Since its inception in 2014, MCARE has been held annually—except during the pandemic period—alternating between Korea and the United States through 2024. Over the past decade, the conference has grown into a well-established international forum, fostering strong transpacific collaboration and interdisciplinary exchange among researchers from academia, industry, and national laboratories.

Building on this solid foundation, MCARE 2026 marks an important new chapter as the conference is hosted for the first time in Southeast Asia. Holding MCARE 2026 in Bangkok reflects not only the expanding role of Asia in global energy research, but also our intention to further strengthen scientific exchange across Asia, Europe, and the Americas by providing a geographically accessible and globally connected venue.

MCARE 2026 aims to serve as a truly global interdisciplinary platform for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge materials research addressing key challenges in alternative and renewable energy. The conference will feature plenary and keynote lectures, invited talks, technical sessions, and poster presentations, offering rich opportunities for collaboration, networking, and innovation, and we sincerely hope that MCARE 2026 will serve as a vibrant forum for active and meaningful scientific exchange.

We gratefully acknowledge the strong support and close collaboration of Chulalongkorn University, as well as the dedicated efforts of the local organizing committee, international advisory members, and all colleagues involved in the planning and organization of MCARE 2026, whose collective commitment has been essential to the successful preparation of this conference.

We warmly invite researchers from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and beyond to join us in Bangkok and to be part of this exciting new phase of the MCARE conference series.

    Sincerely,
