1. General Information
MCARE 2026 (Materials Challenges in Alternative and Renewable Energy) will be held at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok, Thailand, from December 14 to 18, 2026. The conference is hosted by the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers (KIChE) and co-hosted by The American Ceramic Society (ACerS). The Secretariat is operated by [Mybit Co., Ltd.] on behalf of the host (together, the "Organizer").
Your use of www.mcare2026.org is governed by the terms set out here. Separate terms may apply to particular services, such as accommodation booking or sponsorship. Where those conflict with these terms, the separate terms govern that service only.
2. Your Agreement to the Terms
By accessing the website, creating an account, submitting an abstract, or completing registration, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms, and that you have authority to accept them on your own behalf or on behalf of any organization you represent. If you do not accept them, do not use the website.
3. Changes to the Terms
The Organizer may revise these terms. Revisions are posted on this page with the date they take effect, and material changes are announced on the website at least [7] days beforehand. Continuing to use the website after that date means you accept the revised terms.
4. Provision of the Website
The website is provided for the purpose of operating MCARE 2026. Any use that breaches applicable law, or that is prohibited under these terms, is not permitted.
5. Location of the Website
The website is operated from and controlled in the Republic of Korea. If you access it from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with the law of that jurisdiction.
6. User Conduct
You must not:
- post or transmit material that breaches any law or infringes the rights of others
- transmit spam, malicious code, or anything designed to disrupt the site
- harass or impersonate another person, or use another person's account
- attempt to bypass security controls, or access any part of the system without authorization
- use automated means to scrape or harvest data, including author or participant contact details
- post personally identifiable information about a child under 14
7. Terms Relating to Content
You are responsible for anything you submit through the website, and the Organizer is not liable for content submitted by users. Submit only material that you own or are entitled to submit. You are responsible for how you use material obtained from the website.
8. Registered Users
Provide accurate and current information, and keep your login credentials secure. The name and affiliation you enter will appear on your badge, certificates, and in the program book.
Account records are retained for [3] years after the conference and are then deleted. You may review and update your details on My Page at any time before deletion. The Organizer may modify, suspend, or close an account that contains false information or is used in breach of these terms.
9. Abstract Submission and Presentation
Abstracts are accepted only through the online system, by the published deadline. By submitting, you confirm that you are entitled to submit the abstract and that all co-authors have agreed.
You grant the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish the abstract, together with the presenter's name and affiliation, in the program book, abstract book, website, mobile application, and related promotional material, in print and electronic form. Copyright otherwise remains with the authors.
Acceptance of an abstract is not registration. The presenting author must complete registration and payment by the published presenter deadline; abstracts without a registered presenter may be removed from the program. The Organizer determines presentation type, session, date, and time.
10. Registration Fees and Payment
All fees are stated and charged in United States Dollars. Registration is confirmed only when payment is received in full, and confirmation is sent to your registered email address. If confirmation does not arrive within [3] business days, contact the Secretariat.
Card payment is handled by an authorized payment gateway. The Organizer does not collect or store your card number, expiry date, or CVC.
Because all charges are settled in USD, cards issued in the Republic of Korea must have overseas payment enabled by the issuing card company before use. Cards without this setting will be declined. Enabling it is the cardholder's responsibility, and the Organizer is not liable for declined transactions arising from it.
Where bank transfer is offered, all bank charges including intermediary and beneficiary fees are borne by the remitter, and the registrant's name and registration number must appear in the transfer reference. Currency conversion differences and foreign transaction fees applied by your card issuer or bank are not refundable by the Organizer.
11. Cancellation, Refund, and Substitution
Cancellations must be sent in writing to secretariat@mcare2026.org. The date the written request is received determines the refund.
On or before [November 6, 2026] — full refund less an administrative fee of [USD 50]
On or after [December 7, 2026] — no refund
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within [30] days after the conference, less any bank or gateway fees incurred on refund. No-shows and partial attendance are not refundable. Visa refusal is subject to the schedule above.
A registration may be transferred to another person until [December 1, 2026] on written request, subject to any difference in registration category. Transfer does not carry presenter status for an accepted abstract.
12. Visa, Travel, and Insurance
Obtaining a visa and any other travel documentation is your responsibility. The Secretariat issues letters of invitation only after registration and payment are complete, solely to support a visa application. Such a letter is not a commitment to provide funding, accommodation, or travel, and does not guarantee that a visa will be granted. The Organizer is not responsible for visa refusals, immigration decisions, or travel disruption.
Registration fees do not include insurance. Participants are advised to arrange travel and medical insurance covering cancellation, medical costs, and loss of personal property.
13. Conduct, Photography, and Recording at the Conference
MCARE 2026 does not tolerate harassment or discrimination in any form. Recording, photographing, or capturing any presentation or poster without the presenter's prior consent is prohibited. The Organizer may remove a participant who breaches this section from the venue without refund. Concerns may be raised with the Secretariat or at the registration desk.
The Organizer may photograph and film the conference for documentation and for promotion of future MCARE conferences. If you do not wish to appear, tell the registration desk on site; removal from images taken in public areas of the venue cannot always be guaranteed.
14. Force Majeure
If the conference cannot be held as planned because of circumstances beyond the Organizer's reasonable control — including natural disaster, epidemic, war, civil unrest, strike, government restriction, transport disruption, or failure of the venue — the Organizer may postpone it, relocate it, convert it wholly or partly to an online format, or cancel it.
In those circumstances the Organizer's liability is limited to refunding registration fees actually received, less costs already irrevocably committed. Where the conference is postponed or moved online, registrations are transferred and no refund obligation arises. The Organizer is not liable for travel, accommodation, or other costs you incur.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
The website and services are provided as-is. The Organizer does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Views expressed in abstracts and presentations are those of the authors and not of the Organizer, KIChE, or ACerS.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organizer's total liability arising from the website or the conference will not exceed the registration fee actually paid by the person making the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Privacy Policy
The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, and protected, and forms part of these terms.
17. Copyright
The website, including text, layout, graphics, logos, and the MCARE name and marks, is owned by or licensed to the Organizer. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of any part of the website requires prior written permission. Do not submit material that infringes the intellectual property of others.
18. Termination
Access may be terminated without notice if you breach these terms. The Organizer may also suspend, change, or discontinue the website or any part of it at any time.
19. Governing Law and Miscellaneous
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the [Seoul Central District Court] as court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and the Organizer regarding the website and supersede earlier communications on the same subject.
